SAFEGUARDING AT ST PAUL'S WHITECHAPEL CE PRIMARY SCHOOL
Action taken to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm is everyone’s responsibility. ‘Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play. The federation schools serve a diverse population including all religions, faiths, cultures, family models and backgrounds. Staff working in our school cannot make assumptions based on their own experience of life to date. They must maintain an open mind whilst being vigilant to what is in the best interests of the child and they must maintain an attitude of ‘it could happen here’ where safeguarding is concerned.
We recognise that no single professional can have a full picture of a child’s needs and circumstances. If children and families are to receive the right help at the right time, everyone who comes into contact with them has a role to play in identifying concerns, sharing information and taking prompt action.
